By a Member of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar)
Today, history was made once again on the soil of the United States. As a proud member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), I had the honor of witnessing thousands of Sikhs from across the country come together in Washington, DC to vote in the Khalistan Referendum — a peaceful, democratic call for the freedom and sovereignty of our homeland, Punjab.
The atmosphere was electrifying, filled with energy, unity, and a shared vision for justice. Every vote cast was a statement against the decades of oppression, state-sponsored violence, and the denial of Sikh rights in India. It is a clear message to the world: the voice of the Sikh people will not be silenced.
Security was tight, and rightly so — with U.S. intelligence dogs deployed on-site to ensure the safety of the event. Despite constant attempts by the Indian government to label this movement as extremist, the world saw what we’ve always known: this is a peaceful, democratic movement led by people who simply seek freedom, dignity, and self-determination.
Wearing the Khalistan Air Force uniform today was a symbol of strength, discipline, and commitment to the cause. It reminded us that Khalistan is not just a dream, but a goal worth organizing for, voting for, and sacrificing for.
We thank the U.S. authorities for respecting our right to assembly and freedom of expression. The path ahead is long, but days like today prove that the Khalistan movement is growing, united, and unstoppable.
Khalistan Zindabad. Raj Karega Khalsa.
