In a chilling and unapologetic admission on the floor of India’s Parliament, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has once again exposed the deeply entrenched hostility of the Indian government toward Khalistan supporters — and by extension, the Sikh identity and its sacred beliefs.
In the clip that has now gone viral, Amit Shah declares that the Indian state conducted raids and actions against individuals who had only discussed or supported the idea of Khalistan, even referencing that those who dared to raise the issue were doing so with the support of Guru Granth Sahib. This statement not only reveals the brutal crackdown on free speech and ideology but also shows how far the Indian regime is willing to go — crossing religious lines to suppress dissent.
Criminalizing Belief, Persecuting Identity
The Indian government’s obsession with destroying the Khalistan movement has reached an alarming level. Just speaking about Khalistan is now enough to be raided, arrested, or killed. This is not the sign of a democracy — it is the behavior of an authoritarian state afraid of truth and resistance.
According to Amit Shah’s own words, “ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਰਾਂਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।
Translation: “Some people in Punjab tried to become like Bhindranwale. They made efforts, moved forward… Today, they are sitting in Assam jail doing paath from Guru Granth Sahib.”
This is a direct criminalization of Sikh beliefs and an indirect threat that anyone who even resembles the legacy of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale — a revered martyr for many Sikhs — will be jailed, exiled, or eliminated.
Sikh Scriptures Targeted
The most horrifying part of the statement is the mocking reference to Guru Granth Sahib Ji being read inside a prison. The Indian Home Minister’s tone clearly mocks the practice of Sikhs keeping their Guru with them — even in jail. This is a dangerous precedent. No government has the moral right to question or ridicule the relationship between a Sikh and their Guru.
Where Is the Safety for Khalistan Supporters?
From Punjab to Delhi, from Canada to the UK, and now even inside Indian jails, Khalistan supporters are being hunted — legally and extra-legally. We’ve seen it in:
• The suspicious killings of activists abroad
• The raids, arrests, and enforced disappearances of Sikh youth
• The labeling of dissenters as “terrorists” simply for demanding a separate homeland
The Indian government is not just suppressing a movement — it is waging war on Sikh identity, belief, and future.
Conclusion: India Is Not Safe for Khalistanis or Free Thinkers
What kind of democracy jails people for reading their scripture? What kind of state fears a peaceful movement for self-determination? The Indian government, under the BJP and Amit Shah, is proving time and again that anyone who dares to speak about Khalistan is not safe — physically, politically, or spiritually — in India.
This is why the call for Khalistan is not just about geography. It is about survival.
