Fatehgarh Sahib, December 24:

“Punjabis and Sikhs from all regions of Punjab, including Bathinda, Moga, Doaba, Majha, and Malwa, as well as from Haryana, are arriving in large numbers with their vehicles, waving Khalistan flags, to pay homage to the great martyrs at Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. These martyrs include Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh, Mata Gujri Kaur, Diwan Todar Mal, and Baba Moti Singh Mehra, who are being remembered with deep respect and devotion.

People from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and even Delhi have come in large numbers to honor the sacrifices of the Sikh community. On the other hand, farmer leader Sardar Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been on a hunger strike at the Haryana border in Khanauri for the past 30 days. He is steadfast in his protest, refusing any health treatment or food. This has led to his health deteriorating significantly day by day.

The arrival of people from Punjab and Haryana to support this cause raises a serious question for the Modi government: if it fails to address the legitimate demands of farmers, the situation could escalate. The sight of Sikhs arriving with Khalistan flags could pose a significant challenge to the Modi government. If anything happens to Dallewal, the government may find itself unable to control the situation, which could lead to dangerous consequences.

Simranjit Singh Mann, president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), has strongly criticized the Modi government for its hateful policies towards Punjab, Punjabis, and Sikhs. He has warned the government about the worsening conditions in the region and emphasized the immediate need to resolve farmers’ issues. He also pointed out that Punjabis and Sikhs have consistently contributed to the development of India’s industries, defense, and security but are still subjected to systemic injustice and discrimination.

Mann stated that the sacrifices of Punjabis and Sikhs in defending India’s borders and upholding democracy are unparalleled. Despite following legal norms and democratic practices, they are being subjected to ongoing injustice and exploitation by the authorities. He questioned why the government is creating explosive conditions in Punjab when it should be addressing the grievances of the Sikh community, which has played a leading role in every sphere of national development.

Mann also highlighted that prolonged discrimination and the mistreatment of farmers who have been braving harsh conditions at the borders for extended periods cannot be ignored. Their lives and families must be safeguarded, and justice must be delivered to them. Failure to do so would result in serious consequences for the government, not the Punjabis, Sikhs, or farmers.

He expressed hope that the Modi government will take immediate action to prevent any unfortunate incidents and resolve the dissatisfaction among farmers and Punjabis. Otherwise, the worsening conditions will escalate, and the government alone will be held accountable.”
